Nichola is a writer, director and multi award-winning actor, seen in BBC One’s acclaimed series THE ENGLISH directed by Hugo Blick and in EASTENDERS portraying Brenda Collins in a key storyline. She has an Olivier award for her stage work.
She is a published playwright with her two most successful plays MAURICE’S JUBILEE (National Tour with ATG, Edinburgh Fringe, & The Moscow Art Theatre winning their Award & Medal) and A BRITISH SUBJECT which was nominated for an Amnesty Award (Edinburgh Fringe, New York and London 2009), both published by Oberon/Bloomsbury.
MAURICE’S JUBILEE has been licensed for performance by the National Theatre of Hungary, premiering there in April 2026, directed by award-winning director Victor Ryzhakov, who was formerly artistic director at Moscow’s Meyerhold Theater and Cultural Center.
Nichola is currently working on a TV Drama series and her screenplay for MAURICE’S JUBILEE, which is in development, won the GloTIME Best Screenplay Award for 2019. Her television crime drama series SPILSBURY is in development by Free@LastTV in association with The Welcome Trust.

Her radio plays for BBC R4 include A BRITISH SUBJECT, THE INCOMPARABLE WITNESS and MY BROTHER’S KEEPER. She is also a published novelist and children’s writer.
