Fillingham Weston Associates (fwa) are a long-time leading boutique style literary and creative talent agency, established in 1992, incorporating well-respected literary agency Janet Fillingham Associates and the company maintains jfa’s boutique agency style and philosophy.
The ethos offers the advantages of passionate, hands-on, approachable and flexible representation by agents with an extensive knowledge across a broad spectrum of the industry with the clout and tenacity of larger agencies, and we are known for nurturing and career management.
Clients come to fwa because they like the different outlook, preferring the USP of a smaller more adaptable agency. fwa pride ourselves on being nimble and adroit to face new challenges for clients and the industry. We’re as happy plugging a gap on an existing brand at short notice as we are working on a slower burn passion project, always aiming to match a client to the projects for which they’re best suited and vice versa.
fwa are members of the Personal Managers Association, Women in Film and Television and the Musical Theatre Network.
Kate Weston heads up the agency and has enjoyed 15 fulfilling years representing writers, directors and composers working in theatre, film and television. She is hands on and passionate about championing innovative storytellers and creators and is driven by a desire to speak up for the people who initiate the creative process and who develop ideas to energise and inspire us all. Her career has previously covered theatrical and music representation from opera and ballet (S A Gorlinsky Ltd) to the music business (E P Records) via regional theatre touring and management (Charles Vance Ltd) West End, Broadway and international touring (CSS Stellar/Michael Storrs Music). For over 20 years she represented, managed or produced high profile musical artistes, notably Elaine Paige, and writers, creatives and presenters, including Anne Robinson. This all contributes to a broad base of experience and knowledge of the wider industry for her clients.

Janet Fillingham has enjoyed a highly respected career in the industry with her gold standard insight and passion for clients and their projects, and is known for being an approachable and very supportive agent. After over 40 years as a literary agent in television, film, radio and stage, Janet is now in a consultancy role to the agency she founded. From talent-spotting Sue Townsend, whose iconic SECRET DIARY OF ADRIAN MOLE AGED 13 ¾ started life as an audition piece, to working both with other emerging writers and those who are well-established, such as writers Charles McKeown and Rose Tremain, she has steered many writers’ and directors’ careers over the years. Janet founded Janet Fillingham Associates in 1992 following 13 years at Anthony Sheil Associates (later Sheil Land Associates), and 4 years ago jfa rebranded as Fillingham Weston Associates, continuing Janet’s legacy.
