Philip lives in London and writes for theatre, radio and television.

Philip has recently adapted his latest radio work for a stage production in 2026/27.  The BBC Radio 4 play SECOND HAND ROSE was broadcast in February 2024:   Barnaby is an 80-year-old female impersonator. He is stubbornly trying to keep performing despite his frailty. Then a young care nurse comes into his life and all his preconceptions and certainties are turned upside down. An uplifting comedy drama about gender, sexuality, love and respect.

His current stage work also includes NO DOG, NO DANNY for which he won a commission from the Writers Guild as part of their New Play Commissioning Scheme, and  with the support of High Tide and The Playground Theatre, London.  His play HARPY toured the UK with Su Pollard.

Additional radio work for Radio 4 Drama includes TWENTY ODD featuring Denise Welch and NINE BOB NOTES, starring Matthew Kelly.    Philip has also written episodes of Radio 4’s successful legal series BRIEF LIVES and for the Big Finish DARK SHADOWS audio series.

Philip began his writing career in television writing over sixty episodes of EMMERDALE.  He has also contributed to DOCTORSHEARTBEAT and RIVER CITY and has had several original series optioned for development including LAST OF THE DARLINGS by World Pictures and MOTHER TRUCKERS for actor Denis Welch with ITV Studios.
