Rachel is a BAFTA-nominated screenwriter with a sassy sense of humour and a gift for creating memorable characters and rich, fully-imagined story worlds. She has written nearly 200 episodes of kids’ animated series from BOB THE BUILDER to ASK LARA, and from LITTLE PRINCESS to PJ MASKS, and her scripts have won awards and been shortlisted for a Children’s BAFTA, a BAFTA/ Rocliffe, and an International Kids’ Emmy Award.
Rachel is currently developing an original animated feature film called MOXY telling the hilarious and heartwarming story of a little African cheetah cub who dares to be different.
She also writes adult drama, comedy-drama, and sitcom and is a graduate of the 2023 Women in Film & TV Mentoring Scheme where her mentor was acclaimed screenwriter Abi Morgan.
Rachel’s comedy-drama THE INVISIBLES, about three 60something female vigilantes, began life during her mentorship by Abi Morgan and she is now in the process of adapting it into a series of comic novels.
She won Best Comedy Screenplay Award at Oxford Script Awards, Summer 2026, for the pilot episode of her new sitcom MY BLEEPING HEART.
Rachel’s original drama CALEDONIA DREAMING was a finalist in the Studio21 Micro Drama Script Competition 2025 and she pitched it to the global drama business at Content London 2025.
UPSIDE DOWN, her YA series about six thrill-seeking teenagers in the high-stakes world of aerial circus, was a finalist in the BAFTA/Rocliffe New Writing Awards of 2017.
BAD BLOOD, her six-part psychological thriller about sibling rivalry and succession in the Highlands, was backed by development incubator Climate Spring.
A former journalist, Rachel began her TV career as a script editor at Picture Palace TV, rising to become head of development at Red Rooster TV.
