Alan de Pellette Directs HOLLYOAKS During 30th Anniversary: FWA client returns behind the camera for next week’s high-stakes episodes
As HOLLYOAKS marks its 30th anniversary month , FWA client Alan de Pellette returns behind the camera to direct next week’s gripping episodes.
In the village, Clare shows no signs of slowing down her scheming. Despite warnings from her grandfather Froggy, she sets her sights on a new set of targets – and even sparks an uneasy friendship with Peri, much to Tom’s fury. Meanwhile, emotions run high as the community comes together for a vigil, paying heartfelt tributes to those lost in recent tragedies. Expect powerful performances and high-stakes drama as relationships are tested, secrets unravel, and Clare’s next move keeps everyone guessing.
Alan is an experienced, collaborative, and meticulous director, with credits across film, TV, and radio. A proud Glaswegian from a working-class background, he has built a career telling gritty, funny, and emotional stories that resonate with audiences. His directing credits include EASTENDERS, where he led award-winning storylines such as Loving and Losing Lola and The Six, as well as major arcs in EMMERDALE and previous episodes of HOLLYOAKS tackling themes of racism, coercive control, grooming, and domestic abuse.
Alongside continuing drama, Alan has directed single dramas, comedies, children’s television, and documentaries, and his work has earned recognition at BAFTA, RTS, and NTA Awards. This year, he was also selected for the prestigious Directors UK Inspire programme 2025, working with Richard Signy as he develops more long-form drama projects.
We’re excited to see Alan bring his trademark mix of energy, emotional truth, and striking visuals to HOLLYOAKS during this landmark time for the show.
