Perform’s latest production returns to the West End this October half-term
We are delighted to announce that FWA client Annemarie Lewis Thomas will be Musical Director for MAGICAL MERLIN, produced by Perform, which returns to the West End this October half-term for a limited run at St Martin’s Theatre.
Founded in 2000, Perform is a pioneering drama school with child development at its very heart. What began with just two schools in London has grown to over 350 venues across the South and West of England, offering weekly drama, dance and singing classes, holiday programmes, and workshops in primary schools. Unlike traditional stage schools, Perform’s ethos is centred on building children’s self-esteem, creativity and life skills through imaginative games, songs and stories – making their West End productions a natural extension of their mission to inspire and empower young audiences.
After overwhelming demand, MAGICAL MERLIN returns with a spellbinding mix of music, magic and adventure. Designed especially for children and families, this high-energy mini-musical brings the legend of Merlin to life in a fun, accessible way, offering an unforgettable introduction to theatre – whether or not your child attends Perform.
Annemarie brings a wealth of experience to the production. An accomplished MD, cabaret pianist and published composer/lyricist, her credits include the first reimagined production of Rentoutside Broadway, the No. 1 UK tour of ANNIE, BILLIE THE KID in the West End, and several productions for Shakespeare in the Squares. She has also written award-winning musicals and film scores, and from 2009–2022 was Principal/CEO of The MTA drama college.
Annemarie has collaborated with Perform before, most recently as MD for ELEPHANT AND PIGGIE’S: WE ARE IN A PLAY, and is thrilled to be part of MAGICAL MERLIN’s West End return.
MAGICAL MERLIN plays at St Martin’s Theatre from 28 October – 2 November 2025. Tickets are on sale now!
