Musical Direction recognised at the Seventh Annual Pub Theatre Awards
We’re delighted to share that THE MIKADO – directed by Keith Strachan with Musical Direction by our client Annemarie Lewis Thomas – won the Innovative Production Award at the Seventh Annual Pub Theatre Awards, on Sunday.
Produced by Take Note at The Tabard Theatre, this imaginative reworking of Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic operetta was recognised for its creativity, originality, and bold reinvention of a much-loved work.
A published composer, lyricist, and prolific Musical Director and arranger, Annemarie Lewis Thomas brings musical excellence and inventive flair to every project. Her recent work includes musical direction for THE TAMING OF THE SHREW with Shakespeare in the Squares, SHREK at the Wycombe Swan Theatre, and WOLFED at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern.
Annemarie’s diverse career spans original compositions, new musicals, touring productions, and youth theatre. Her original musical J., a contemporary retelling of the Don Juan story, became a multi-award-winning short film musical at international festivals. Other credits include COMING HOME, COVIDELLA AND THE MASKED BALL, OH MY, NELLIE BLY, and DANGEROUS DAUGHTERS, published by Samuel French/Concord.
Congratulations to Annemarie and the entire MIKADO team on this well-deserved recognition for such an inventive and inspired production.
