Catriona is a writer and actor of Irish heritage and started gaining attention with her writing at a young age, winning The BBC National Radio Critic of the Year Award at just 16.
Her recent play LADY MACBETH UNCUT, inspired by the real Lady Macbeth (Gruoch), tells the story from Lady Macbeth’s point of view. It premiered in London in 2024 and in Australia in 2025 , with a further production being planned in the UK.
Catriona studied at Magdalen College, Oxford and subsequently trained at The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, and in 2019 she returned to her love of writing when she took the Playwriting Foundations course at The Arcola Theatre. Her first play NO ISSUE was short-listed for Capsule Theatre Festival in 2021 and was staged at Theatre 503 in 2022. Her pandemic-inspired monologue was published in SLAMinutes does Mental Health in 2021.
Her next project is a dramatic adaptation of NINE FOLDS MAKE A PAPER SWAN, the novel by Ruth Gilligan.
As an actor Catriona toured the UK with Sir Peter Hall’s Company in MRS WARREN’S PROFFESION with Twiggy, before taking lead roles in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, BLITHE SPIRIT and HUIS CLOS. She was also the solo singer for AN EVENING WITH DON BLACK, a retrospective of the career of the James Bond lyricist, and the Movement Coach for 2 seasons of BBC’s WOLFBLOOD.
