Conor (he/they) hails from Oldham and is a graduate of Central School of Speech and Drama and of the Dramatic Writing MA at Drama Centre, Central Saint Martins, where they gained a Distinction (2018). Their tutors at the Drama Centre included John Yorke, Rob Drummer and Lucy Kerbel and Tony Clarke.
Conor is particularly interested in everyday humour and celebrating ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances and is developing ideas for television and film.
Conor’s 2020 stage play WHO CARES?, a comedy drama exploring unlikely friendships and a fight for equality even when the odds are set against you, ran at the Vault Festival 2020. Lyn Gardner described it as ‘crucial theatre’.
Conor was commissioned by Boundless Theatre to write A GUIDE TO SURVIVING, as part of the Headlong Signal Fires’ project (October 2020), working with Nassim Soleimanpour to send both virtual and physical fires, with the playtext, to young adults across the UK.
They have worked at the National Theatre Education Department, Frantic Assembly and Jamie Lloyd Productions. They are Senior Creative Learning Manager (West End) for Ambassador Theatre Group and have won a UK Theatre Award for Workforce 2023. They have extensive experience of community engagement in theatre with all ages.
