Paul is a London-based director with wide experience directing and producing independent films. He has directing and filmmaking experience across genres including drama, action, sci-fi, horror and crime, and his credits include season director on Fox Action Movie’s vampire series AGE OF THE LIVING DEAD and My5’s political action show NO EASY DAYS. To increase his experience as he focuses from Indies to Continuing Drama and High-End TV, he has recently shadowed on Apple TV’s hit show SLOW HORSES (starring Gary Oldman) and also on CALL THE MIDWIFE, CASUALTY and PHOENIX RISE at the BBC. His latest film STEALING CHAPLIN achieved nationwide theatrical releases in the UK and USA. The Guardian loved it, calling it “An Elmore Leonard-esque pleasure with an unflagging, garrulous confidence that whisks you along.” His film ESCAPING PARADISE has been streaming on Tubi since July 2023.
In 2024 Paul started directing Continuing Drama including HOLLYOAKS with the first block of the 30th Anniversary weeks in 2025 and 5 standout episodes seeing two legacy characters return, a sibling sexual abuse storyline, a large amount of school student and teacher-based drama and the grief-stricken aftermath for two deaths, all balanced with touches of humour where appropriate. 2026 sees him expanding his work with High-End TV.
Paul’s background in low budget independent film has honed his ability to work quickly and efficiently whilst delivering quality work with maximum production value. These skills have benefitted his move to television and he’s an actor’s director with a visual, energetic and fluid narrative style and a focus on character, performance and storytelling. He has an eye for detail and nuance, while never shying away from emotional truth and exciting visuals.
