Rhiannon Faith is an Olivier nominated boundary-breaking Artist whose work and experiences cross artforms. She is an exciting British female voice making waves in directing, choreography and as a published author and enjoys working in film and television.
Rhiannon has been nominated for five National Dance Awards; ‘Best Independent Company’ 2023, 2022 & 2021; ‘Best Digital Choreography’ (DROWNTOWN LOCKDOWN) in 2021 and ‘Best Dance Film’ (DROWNTOWN live film) in 2022. In addition she was nominated for an AWA Women In Dance Leadership Award 2022. Her company has been awarded NPO status from 2023, and as such she has produced exciting touring productions.
The first of these was LAYDOWN YOUR BURDENS which premiered at the Barbican, London, during November 2023 and toured in 2024. Co-commissioned by The Barbican and Harlow Playhouse, it was nominated for a 2024 Olivier Award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Dance’ and shortlisted for a 2024 One Dance UK Award for ‘Innovation in Dance’. She has since produced further work including THE CARE WE SEE for 4 dancers and 20 audience members who navigate questions of community, courage and care in a powerful and joyful experience.
The London premiere of Rhiannon’s dance-theatre show DROWNTOWN was at The Place, November 2022 and toured China in 2023. The previous filmed version was one of The Guardian’s top five tips for 2021.
Her latest upcoming work is entitled MARY MARY, a wild, tender and physical piece of theatre that explores what a society rooted in radical inclusion would look like.

Dark, uncompromising and moving, yet accessible, tender and physically stunning, DROWNTOWN is gritty dance theatre. The powerful filmed dance-theatre piece DROWNTOWN premiered on the Barbican Centre website and received 4 star reviews: ‘impressive’ ‘thought-provoking brand of physical theatre that is all Faith’s own’. She has written, directed and choreographed this bold new mid-scale dance theatre piece which was filmed at Harlow Playhouse and supported by DanceEast and Arts Council England.
Rhiannon has been Movement Director for spectacular award-winning outdoor events including the 2019 FIRST TO FIGHT in Gdansk, Poland commemorating the years 1949-1989 in Poland.
In August 2018 Rhiannon was announced as the first ever Associate Artist at Harlow Playhouse. SMACK THAT (a conversation), toured and played at the Ovalhouse in London in 2017. The show also toured the UK in 2018 to critical acclaim and was nominated for Innovation in Dance at One Dance UK Awards. SMACK THAT (a conversation) has also been published by Oberon Books as an instructional dance play.
Rhiannon Faith is responsible for making Harlow Playhouse the first J9 Venue in the UK, (a sign-posted safe space for victims of Domestic Abuse) and other UK art venues, including the Barbican, and Ovalhouse have also signed up to the campaign.
She holds an MA in Contemporary Dance Theatre Practice, a PGCE, and received the Smith-Artaud Award for excellence in Dance Theatre.
