Congratulations to MIXMUPS and the whole team including writer client Miranda Walker! MIXMUPS has been awarded the VLV Award (Voice of the Listener and Viewer Award) for Excellence in Broadcasting, Best Children’s Programme 2023 in the ceremony on 24 April 2024, presented by Clive Myrie.
Brand new inclusive preschool series MIXMUPS premiered on Channel 5’s Milkshake! on Saturday 4th November 2023 at 8:15am and is broadcast every Saturday and Sunday morning. With 10 episodes written by fwa writer client Miranda Walker.
Created by–and featuring–people with disabilities, MixMups‘ three lead characters live with their friends and assistance pets in a wheelchair-accessible house. In each episode, characters Pockets, Giggle and Spin use their magical wooden spoon and mixing box to transport themselves on adventures and test their problem-solving skills.
Inspired by children’s love of mixing items and styles of play, MixMups is a brand new series that aims to teach individuality, imagination, friendship, and flexible thinking.
A first for the network, the 52 x 10-minute stop-motion animated series was developed and is produced with support from the UK’s Young Audiences Content Fund (YACF). It was commissioned by Milkshake! in 2021.
