Sometimes misunderstood Dramaturgy is the theory and practice of dramatic composition.
Across theatre, radio and screen, dramaturgs play a vital role in shaping work from first idea through to rehearsal room and production. They bring structural insight, editorial rigour and a deep understanding of audience, while working closely with writers, directors and producers to unlock a project’s full potential.
We are proud to represent a group of outstanding writer-dramaturgs whose work spans major producing theatres, commercial productions, radio drama, musical theatre and artist development. Below, we spotlight the dramaturgical work of our clients currently available for collaboration.
Clemmie Reynolds
Dramaturg, Writer and Director
Clemmie Reynolds is one of the most highly regarded practitioners working in the UK today.
Her dramaturgy credits include work with Shakespeare’s Globe, BBC Radio 4, and Sonia Friedman Productions. She works regularly with playwright Patrick Barlow and director Lucy Bailey, and is currently dramaturg and contributing additional material on a new Patrick Barlow project.
Recent work includes dramaturgy on the world premiere of JOHN CLARE: THE MADHOUSE SESSIONS (2025), which she also directed at the Camden Fringe, and AN AFTERNOON WITH THE LADIES OF THE CLIFF RICHARD FAN CLUB, SUTTON COLDFIELD, 1995, which played throughout the Edinburgh Festival Fringe before touring nationally and transferring to London. Her radio dramaturgy includes adapting STAR CHILD for broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
Clemmie is a Reader for the Bruntwood Prize and Sonia Friedman Productions and brings exceptional expertise in both new writing development and large-scale commercial and subsidised theatre.
Jake Vithana
Dramaturg and Writer
Jake Vithana is a gifted dramaturg and writer working across theatre, film and television.
He was dramaturg on WHY I STUCK A FLARE UP MY ARSE FOR ENGLAND, written and performed by Alex Hill, a critically acclaimed solo show that has received multiple five-star reviews and returned to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in successive years and toured internationally.
Alongside his dramaturgical practice, Jake is a prolific screenwriter and filmmaker and was selected for the BBC Writers Voices London cohort in 2025. His dramaturgy is marked by strong structural clarity, a sharp instinct for pace and a collaborative approach that is particularly effective in solo performance and politically driven work.
Nicola Werenowska
Dramaturg, Writer and Co-Writer
Nicola Werenowska is an award-winning neurodivergent playwright whose dramaturgical work is rooted in inclusive practice and collaboration.
She has worked extensively with Graeae Theatre Company, including as co-writer and dramaturg on stage and radio projects. Her work spans large-scale adaptations, theatre for young people and audio drama, and she brings particular expertise in accessible dramaturgy and storytelling for disabled and neurodivergent audiences.
Nicola is currently writing a new two-part BBC Radio 4 drama and continues to develop new theatrical work supported by Arts Council England.
Teresa Howard
Dramaturg, Writer and Mentor
Teresa Howard combines her work as a writer and librettist with a strong dramaturgical and mentoring practice.
She has worked within the Literary Department of the Royal Court Theatre and has been dramaturg on IN THE WILLOWS, winner of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Award for Best Musical Theatre Book 2019, GREAT EXPECTATIONS for Metta Theatre’s UK tour, and TREASURE ISLAND at Watford Palace.
Teresa has particular expertise in musical theatre dramaturgy and regularly mentors emerging writers and composers, supporting narrative clarity, character development and the integration of music and text. She is also an experienced lecturer and mentor for new musical theatre writers.
Sayan Kent
Dramaturg and Writer
Sayan Kent is a British Asian writer, composer and dramaturg whose work spans theatre, music and screen.
She was a Writer on Attachment at the Royal Shakespeare Company, collaborating with artists across disciplines and supporting the development of new work. Her dramaturgical approach is collaborative and idea-led, helping writers and companies shape early-stage concepts and bring them confidently towards production.
Sayan continues to work with a range of producing organisations on new plays, operatic work and community-based projects, bringing a strong understanding of structure, voice and socially engaged storytelling.
